Abstract

This review aims to provide an overview of the scientific literature on mango flowering and associated management techniques. The factors influencing mango flowering can be categorized as environmental e.g. air temperature, water relations, and phytohormone control of abscission, or plant-related (e.g. mutation status, photosynthesis, plant hormones, and irrigation). Varietal differences can also be observed in the pattern of fruit drop. Various attempts have been made to improve fruit set and yield through good pruning, irrigation, nutritional management, hormonal regulation and the use of some bio stimulants.
